If you’re in the beauty industry, Cosmoprof North America is an expo you should not miss. Whether you retail, manufacture, distribute, design or invent, this show has everything you need for your site, salon, brand or company. It’s not a cash & carry show – this is strictly for professionals in all aspects of the beauty industry.
Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) is the largest and most awarded B2B beauty event in the Americas. Growing annually, CPNA has become recognized as the premier launching pad for new beauty brands and for discovering new product innovations, new channels for distribution, packaging, and manufacturing solutions. It remains the single most important networking opportunity in the United States for all sectors of the global beauty industry.
I have attended the last 4 years, and each show gets bigger and better. This year, I decided to focus my time on brands I really wanted to learn about. Usually, I’m booth hopping trying to meet as many companies as possible, and even though it’s fun, it’s not a good game plan. I learn very little about a ton of brands. This year, I focused on limited key booths and learned so much about their companies, products, and people.
The event was July 29th – August 1st, and like every year, those 3 days were non-stop walking and talking.
I arrived in Las Vegas on Sunday, July 29th around 11:30am (after a 4 hour drive from Palm Springs, CA), checked into my hotel, got refreshed and headed to Cosmoprof around 12:30pm. I went solo, since none of my blogging friends were able to attend.
There was a press luncheon at 12:30, so I immediately made my way into that. The luncheon had a nice array of food, but there were also a handful of exhibiting brands showcasing their products. [Sorry, no pics of luncheon.]
My favorite meet was with Purvari. I love all things rose and their new mist Purvari Rose Petal Mist is made with only 2 ingredients: water and wild rose petals from India. Their roses are handpicked and grown without pesticides or fertilizers.
After the luncheon, I spent the next 1.5 hours making my way through the convention center and stopping by a handful of booths, then headed to the press room for a meet and greet with Paris Hilton. But since she was running late and I was already exhausted, I headed back to my hotel room to rest up a bit before the next event. OMG I was TIRED!
The final event of the day was a press cocktail reception. The reception area was filled with a number of exhibitors hand selected by the Cosmoprof heads. I stopped by all of the booths I was interested in, and one I can’t stop thinking about is Hard Night Good Morning.
Hard Night Good Morning was created by Real Housewives star D’Andra Simmons. I don’t watch RH, so I was a little embarrassed when I was introduced to her and did not know who she was. I love the name of this line because, yeah, sometimes you can go too hard at night and still need to look good in the morning. LOL
Wasn’t that a crazy day one? I didn’t go to any events Monday and Tuesday. Instead, I focused those 2 days on meeting brands I was attracted to. I cannot even estimate how many people I chatted with those 2 days. It was booth after booth after booth. But, I spent much more time at every one compared to last year, learning about what makes each brand so special. I missed a few interesting booths this year, but I am extremely satisfied with the ones I visited.
Since I’m such an introvert, though, these type of events take a lot out of me. But they are always exceedingly enjoyable and worth every achy foot and back pain. Which is why I want to attend again next year.
Thank you, Cosmoprof North America, for allowing me to attend. See you in 2019!
