7 Indie Makeup Brands You Should Know

January 17, 2018 //  by Linda//  Leave a Comment

It seems like every week, there’s another new brand popping up on Instagram. Many come and go, but others are able to build a loyal following by offering seriously amazing products and stellar customer service. You’ve probably seen these beauty mavens doing their thing. And if you haven’t, be prepared – you’re going to want to empty your wallet for these companies. They’re THAT good.

1. Chaos Makeup

Makeup artist Megan Martinez started her brand with a gorgeous mix of 6 highlighters before creating must-have shadows, lipsticks and even rainbow highlighters. Everything is made by hand in Texas. Chaos carries some crazy awesome duo chromes that I need in every. single. color. Just looking at their IG makes me drool. And when TF is this color changing goodness coming out?!

2. Makeup Monsters Cosmetics

I originally found Makeup Monsters a couple of years ago through Instagram and ordered 2 liquid lipsticks that same night. 2 years later and I’m still ordering their products – which shows how much I adore them. Makeup Monsters Lip Toppers are next on my list. And I’m pumped for their upcoming Dragon Child palette.

3. Lunatick Cosmetic Labs

I am in serious lust with Lunatick Cosmetic Labs’ packaging. Even if their products sucked [they don’t BTW], I would still buy from them because I’m a packaging sucker. No, seriously. Take a look at their pressed powder, and can we talk about this black eyeshadow? I never needed a black eyeshadow more in my life!

4. Cryptic Cosmetics

I love @depechegurl. Her lip looks are to die for and her brand Cryptic Cosmetics creates some beautiful shades of liquid lipsticks. Even my rainbow-colored soul needs some goth in it.

5. Storybook Cosmetics

Storybook Cosmetics mixes my love of fables and fairytales with makeup, and that is something I never not want. Their rose shaped brushes are a definite must have, and tell me this Mean Girls palette isn’t the best thing ever?!

6. Color Kill Makeup

Not only are their liquid lipsticks long lasting and non-drying, they’re also vegan & cruelty free. And the packaging is out of this world! My favorite shade of theirs is Mega Matte Liquid Lipstick in Ruby Bling – a ruby red with a pearl sheen. It’s comfortable and that pearly sheen adds an extra special touch.

7. Orglamix

Orglamix’s goal is to create amazing products in small batches with minimal ingredients. Their products are free from harmful ingredients like synthetic dyes, parabens, and preservatives. I remember when Orglamix was just selling eyeshadows YEARS ago. Now, they’ve expanded to over 600 products, including 96 different shades of mineral eyeshadow.

Have you shopped any of these brands? Who’s your fave?
